I want to offer an opinion on walking thru “occupied” group sites. Each group site has a loop that surrounds a pavilion. These could be called a road. While these are not “off-limits” to other guests/walkers, some campers/guest can be territorial about their rented site/area. So, the group area is a public road but is also a rented/reserved space. Often group sites are rented to extended families and they view the group site as “their area” to let kids run around and feel safe. While I don’t agree at all with any aggressive/demanding behavior, some guests can become upset with what they view as an intrusion of their space. That being said, I would say you are free to explore/walk thru any non-occupied group site, our 1-mile paved loop, our 1-mile nature/grass loop, or any to the paved paths and walkways in the campground. I was walking through Groveland Oaks. I was staying in group 4.
As I walked though group 12 a man told me I was not allowed to walk the roads in the group area he rented.
He was pretty aggressive and demanded I leave.
I was not walking into any of his sites, grass or pavilion. I was only on the paved road.
I would like to know if people are allowed to walk all the roads in including group areas or not.
It was very disturbing.
