Improve connectivity and downtown access

We live off Bloomer Road and love walking downtown, but it is extremely dangerous with dogs and children given the only access for us is South street which has no sidewalks that can get you there. Drivers speed down that road as well. It makes it less desirable to go downtown. If there was a direct connection (e.g. road with sidewalk, walking path, etc.) between Leticia and Bloomer Rd or one of the adjacent streets that would be incredible. It would not only give all those communities direct access to the shops and activities, but it would make the city as a whole more walkable and enjoyable. It would be the perfect addition. Right now we don’t really feel like an extension of downtown and we feel like driving is the best and safest option, so we go less frequently.
