Mowing trails at Rose Oak

Hello, yesterday, July 22, I walked the trails of Rose Oak like I do most mornings. I parked at the entrance on Buckhorn Lake Rd. Started my walk and once I crossed the bridge I noticed that the edge of the trail going left or right that the foliage had been cut about a foot and half on either side of the trail. I thought maybe it was just this area, but it wasn't. The person mowing cut the native plants that grow along the trails through out all the trails I walked. The cone flowers, asters, native grasses, bergemont , etc. were cut and just laying there. This included the prairie trail, the trails that surround the area where the pipe lines were buried, and around Richardson Lake. I know these flowers and plants will grow back but most native plants only flower once a season unlike annual plants. So the beauty of color is gone this season.

I was so disappointed to see this and hope this was just a mistake on the mowers part. The beauty of flowers at Rose Oak makes it one of my favorite local park. I have no pictures to upload but can send one if needed. Thank you
