Thank you for your feedback and for using the park! We like the idea of a pathway through the woods along side of the road and hope to address it as part of a wider park improvement project in 2028. We did recently install a pedestrian counter to gage the amount of traffic we see through that entrance each day. We appreciate you reaching out! Thank you!
Off Road Walking Path at North Entrance of Independence Oaks

Currently when you use the independence oaks the northern pedestrian entrance you must walk on the road for a couple minutes before you can get onto a trail. This section is also on the approach of a blind steep corner for traffic.
I'd like to propose a new short trail through the woods along the road that comes out to a formal road trail crossing for safer entry/exit like in my attached image.
