Orion Oaks closed trails

I'd like to understand why several hiking trails have been closed off in Orion Oaks. What data was used to support the permanent removal of hiking/biking trails? Last year, you cut off several trails I used regularly for the past 30+ years. Those trails existed long before I bought a house in the area. I use the park weekly and enjoyed the ability to run in the woods on a hot day. Those trails also provided variety and access. At first, I thought the closures were for maintenance but you then added debris, in addition to fencing, to stop people from utilizing them. I had hopes the trails through the woods would reopen this year but after looking at the new maps with the trails completely disappearing, it became clear it was permanent. I thought the purpose of the parks was to provide more use opportunities, not remove them. Particularly, since two millages are currently funding the Oakland County Parks, there should be no reason they are removed from use. The two field trails, closer to the Baldwin Road parking area, I didn't use as regularly, but still used, were also closed for no apparent reason. What is the plan for this area? Where is the data to support the closure of these trails? Who made the decision? Did you ask the public? You took a very nice park with a lot of trails, and different topography, and cut a huge chunk of them from being used. Please provide the data to support the elimination of multiple trails.

The attached map shows the are where trails were eliminated.
