Catalpa Oaks

Catalpa Oaks is a 24-acre Oakland County Park located in the City of Southfield. The project to improve Catalpa Oaks is part of the OCP Healthy Communities Park and Outdoor Recreation Investment Plan. The Catalpa Oaks project aims to add an accessible and welcoming plaza and to make improvements to the parking lot and stormwater management. The project is funded by the OCP Healthy Communities Park and Outdoor Recreation Investment Plan, including $750,000 in ARPA funding and $1,490,000 from the OCP Capital Improvement Program.

The park closed in May 2025 to allow for work on a new picnic shelter, improved accessible pathways, playground expansion and paved parking lot. Renovations are expected to conclude in July 2026 but intermittent closures are anticipated throughout the year to allow for turf growth.
